How can I get cash today?

Do you need cash in your pocket today? There are a few things you could try. We’ll give you some ideas below.

Look around your house

Yes, this is incredibly obvious. However, you may be surprised by how much cash you could find in and around your home (and we aren’t just talking about coins).

Therefore, consider having a look around the following places:

  • Behind your couch and between the cushions.
  • Jean and jacket pockets.
  • In your car. Remember to check all the compartments, as well as underneath the seats.

Admittedly, you may be unlikely to find hundreds of dollars in your house. Therefore, you may want to consider the next option.

Download Airtasker

Airtasker is a free app that allows users to pick up odd-jobs for cash.

For example, if you have a lawnmower, you could quite quickly pick up a few jobs mowing lawns in the local area. In addition, if you have a ute or a large truck, there are always people looking for taskers to help them move.

Need cash now? Sell your old things

If you have any old valuables lying around your house, why not consider selling something online? These days especially, with platforms like Gumtree and Facebook Marketplace, putting valuables up for sale is easier than ever.

All you need to do is take a photo of what you wish to sell, and post it to an online marketplace. From there, you could have a response in no time, and potentially cash in your hand by the end of the day.

Apply for a cash loan

You may, understandably, need more cash than what the above options are able to give you. As a result, you may want to consider applying for a cash loan online. Often, lenders may be able to assess your application quickly, and if you’re approved, send through a digital loan contract.

If you feel this is something you may be interested in, why not consider using Monzi’s lender-finding service? In short, we may be able to match you with a potential credit provider. Depending on when you apply, we may even have a response for you within 60 minutes.

Where can I borrow cash?

Consumers have a range of borrowing options available to them.

For example, you could apply with a traditional lending institution, like a bank or credit union. However, it may be difficult to secure approval if you have a bad credit record or receive government benefits. In addition, if you really need cash right now, there’s no guarantee a bank or credit union will be able to process your application in time.

Luckily, there are alternative lender options available online. These short term lenders may be able to assess your loan quickly, and potentially transfer your funds the same day you apply.

I need a loan now! Please help

Needing emergency cash is never a fun time. Generally, people apply for fast emergency cash loans if an unexpected expense has reared its ugly head.

With a debt or deadline breathing down your neck, it can be easy to panic and apply with the first lender you come across. However, they may not always be your best option.

Specifically, it may be tempting to apply with a payday lender. After all, they offer easy approval and quick transfers. However, they also often carry inflexible, short repayment terms, as well as high fees.

In these situations, it is important to keep calm and consider all the options available to you. For example, you could think about using Monzi’s lender-finder service.

Am I eligible for Monzi’s lender-finder service?

We have a few pretty industry-standard criteria you will first need to meet before using Monzi:

  • You will need to be at least 18 years old.
  • An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Have your own mobile number and email address.
  • Have at least 90 days of banking history, receiving a regular income into a personal bank account.

Please note, we are not actually lenders, but a lender-finder service. As a result, we cannot speak to the assessment criteria of individual lenders. In other words, even if you meet all the above criteria, you may not be eligible with an individual lender, as they will have their own assessment regulations.

How do I get started with Monzi if I need fast cash now?

In a rush and need cash in your account pronto? Don’t worry, Monzi likes things to mover quickly as well.

Here’s how you can get started with our super-speedy lender-finder service:

Lodge an application online

The first step is, obviously, lodging an application on our site. In fact, you can do that right here; just scroll up to the loan slider at the top of the page.

Next, select how much you’re thinking of applying for, as well as your ideal repayment terms. Once you have done this, some examples of the weekly, fortnightly, and monthly repayments will be shown.

Be aware that these examples are a rough guide only. Credit providers vary in the cost of their loans.

Finally, complete the submission form by filling in all relevant information. And, that’s it!

Wait for the Monzi magic

This is the part we do best. In short, once we receive your submission, we’ll get to work trying to match you with a lender.

If you apply during normal business hours, we may have an outcome for you within 60 minutes.

If we match you with a lender, they will first assess your application. If you’re approved for a loan, they’ll make an offer. Only approve the digital loan contract if you are happy with all aspects of your loan. Otherwise, you are under no obligation to approve the contract offered to you.

Depending on the lender you’re paired with, you may receive your funds the same day. There is, however, no guarantee.

What cash loans can I apply for?

Over our time in the lender-finding game, we’ve built up a strong network of available credit providers. As such, consumers can use our lender-finder service to apply for cash loans from $300 to $10,000.

Small cash loans are available from $300 to $2,000. Generally, small cash loans are unsecured, meaning you do not need to attach any asset as collateral against the loan. In addition, the repayment terms are usually around 12 months, but this may vary depending on the lender.

In addition, you could apply for medium loans that range from $2,100 to $4,600. Keep in mind, medium cash loans are secured, meaning you must attach an asset as collateral. Generally, lenders can accept your car, caravan, motorbike or boat. The repayment terms for medium loans can range anywhere from 13 to 24 months, depending on the lender.

Finally, you have the option of applying for large secured cash loans. These loans are very similar to medium personal loans, except they can be applied for from $5,000 to $10,000.

Can you pair me with a payday lender?

In general, no.

Monzi tries to avoid pairing our clients with a payday lender. Instead, we’ll aim to match your application with a lender potentially offering personal loans.

What is the difference between personal and payday loans? Let’s fill you in.

Generally, payday lenders offer small loans of $2,000 and under. In addition, payday loans often come with very short repayment terms; sometimes as short as 4 weeks. If you fail to repay your loan within this short space of time, you may be charged additional fees that may quickly snowball.

Personal loans, on the other hand, are often available at much larger amounts. In addition, personal loans generally have repayment terms stretching over several months. This means the regular contractual repayments are manageable and can be fit around your regular budget.

I need cash now but want to avoid a credit check

Looking for a cash loan no credit check? Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee whether or not a lender will perform a credit check on your application. After all, credit checks are at the discretion of individual lenders.

Credit checks, however, do not need to send a shiver down your spine. If you’re stressing about being declined because of your poor credit, hear us out. In short, you may be considered for approval, despite your poor credit history.

This is because our network of lenders often prefers to focus on your current relationship with money, not your past mistakes. Specifically, credit providers may consider the following:

  • Your regular income.
  • Your regular expenses.
  • If you are repaying any other debts.
  • Your banking history.

Is it possible to get a personal loan with a credit score of 550?

In general, it depends on where you apply.

As 550 is not the greatest credit score in the world, it may be difficult to be approved for a personal loan through a bank or credit union with this score. However, every application is different, and there may be a bank or credit union willing to offer you a loan.

On the other hand, you could apply for a personal loan through a short term lender. Again, Monzi cannot guarantee whether or not you will be approved. However, short term lenders are generally more understanding of bad credit.

I need cash now but I have no job

It may be difficult to be approved for a quick cash loan if you do not have a job. However, it is not impossible.

Lenders will look to confirm you are earning a regular income. Generally, if you are unemployed, this can be in the form of Centrelink benefits. Therefore, certain lenders may be able to regard regular Centrelink payments as a form of income.

I need instant cash loans on Centrelink

Receiving government benefits does not automatically disqualify you from cash loans online. As we mentioned above, certain lenders may be able to accept regular Centrelink benefits as a form of income.

Certain lenders may, however, have rules around:

  • What kind of Centrelink benefits they can consider, i.e. Newstart, Disability Support Pension etc.
  • What percentage of your total income Centrelink benefits can make up.

As a result, Monzi cannot guarantee your application will be approved. After all, Australian law requires credit providers to lend money responsibly.

Can I apply for cash now with no bank account?

Unfortunately, no. A personal bank account is essential for anyone looking to apply for a cash loan.

If you do not have a bank account, you will not be able to apply for a short term loan. This reason is twofold:

  1. Credit providers need to access read-only copies of your bank account, to confirm your income, expenses and repayments.
  2. If you’re approved for a loan, it must be transferred into your income account. In other words, into the same account assessed when you apply.

Can I get a same day loan?

If you need cash ASAP, you’re probably looking for a lender that can make things move quickly. Moreover, you’re likely to want to apply, have your loan assessed and finally processed, all on the same day.

The good news? Monzi’s network of lenders can potentially offer same day loans. However, borrowers are not guaranteed same day access. After all, there are certain variables at play that determine when you will access your cash.

These include:

  • When you approve your contract. If you approve your contract outside of your lenders normal business hours (i.e. after hours weekdays or the weekend) your loan may not be transferred until the following business day.
  • Banking rounds. Be aware certain lenders have banking rounds throughout the day where they are able to transfer funds. If you miss the final round of banking for the day, your loan will not be transferred until the next business day.
  • Inter-bank transfer times. Transfer times may vary depending on your individual banking situation. For example, transfers between certain lenders and banks may be quicker than others.
  • Stalled applications. Lenders may have to stop processing your application to wait on additional information and documentation. As a result, aim to supply all relevant information the first time. For example, details on the vehicle you’re using as collateral, or your myGov information if you receive Centrelink.

I need cash now, but how do I repay later?

So, you’ve secured your cash? Excellent! Now covering those unexpected expenses will be a breeze.

If you thought lodging an application for fast cash loans was easy, wait until you hear about making repayments.

Here’s how it all works:

  • First you and your lender will reach an agreement on the repayment terms. Generally, you will agree on a repayment term (how many months you have to repay) and the schedule (weekly, fortnightly or monthly).
  • Next, the direct debit will be set up from your account, and repayments will automatically be deducted.
  • Finally, once your repayments are complete, the direct debit will automatically stop.

And that’s it! Simple, right?

What happens if I miss a repayment?

If you miss a repayment, and do not let you credit provider know beforehand, you will be charged a fee.

All these fees, however, will be included in your loan contract. Therefore, before approving anything, make sure you understand all the details of your loan. Consumers should get in contact with their lender if they are unsure of anything.

What to do if you cannot afford an upcoming repayment

If you feel you like you will be unable to afford one of your upcoming repayments, you should get in contact with your lender. Generally, if you give your lender at least 24 hours notice before your payment is due, they should be able to cancel or reschedule your repayment for a contractual fee.

In short, the worst thing you can do is stick your head in the sand and wish your problem away. Unfortunately, it will not go away, and you will be likely charged a dishonour fee. Therefore, be honest and upfront with your credit provider and they should be pretty understanding.

I’m experiencing hardship repaying this loan

In short, you should not be experiencing significant hardship when you make your contractual repayments. After all, lenders have procedures in place to make sure they don’t offer you an unsuitable loan.

A loan is considered unsuitable for the consumer if:

  • the consumers’ needs and objectives are not met; and
  • the consumer is unable to afford the contractual repayments without financial hardship.

However, circumstances can change, and your ability to afford your repayments can be affected indefinitely. Moreover, this could be from losing your job, or being badly injured so you are no longer able to work.

Fortunately, credit providers have procedures in place to deal with financial hardship claims. Therefore, get in contact with your lender’s hardship department to apply for hardship.
